Holly Helbig, DVM


          Dr. Holly Helbig is a graduate of The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of The American Veterinary Medical Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Equine Practitioners. She has a special interest in equine lameness and was awarded the Large Animal Student Proficiency Award from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2013.
          Dr. Helbig is originally from Akron, Ohio and grew up competing hunter/jumpers. She has an undergraduate degree from Ohio University with a B.S. in Business and Communications. Prior to vet school she worked for Merck & Co as a pharmaceutical representative and part time as a horse trainer on the "A" circuit in Chagrin Falls, OH. Her love of horses and strong interest in medicine lead her to obtain a degree in veterinary medicine.
     Currently, Dr. Helbig practices veterinary medicine and operates Hawthorne Hill, a hunter/jumper training facility in Dublin, Ohio.  She has multiple riders competing at a national level and serves as regional coordinator for the World Champion Hunter Rider organization. Kaylin Van Horn, DVM

Dr. Kaylin was raised in Gilbert, AZ and moved to Columbus, OH for her undergraduate career in Animal Sciences at OSU. She is a 2019 graduate of The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a one-year equine ambulatory internship with Bella Vista Equine Veterinary Services where she expanded her skills and knowledge in emergency medicine, lameness, internal medicine and  preventative medicine.

Her professional interests include sport horse medicine, lameness, and emergency medicine. 

She grew up competing in hunters, jumpers and equitation. She continues to compete in show jumping on her horse, Pearl and enjoy time with her retired gelding, Mick. In her free time she enjoys teaching and practicing acroyoga, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Tyler, both their families, and their 5 dogs.

Alisha Metcalfe


Alisha Metcalfe works as Head Trainer at Hawthorne Hill. She has been instructing and competing in the horse industry for more than 30 years. Alisha has been fortunate enough to learn, and continue learning, from top professionals such as George Morris, Jeff Wirthman, Randy Mullins, Geoff Teal, Jeff Cook, Judy Grayson and Debbie Stephens. Alisha creates the perfect program for both horse and rider. She understands that every pair is different, in a spectacular way.
